American pancake recipe 

One of the most popular breakfast dishes in America is undoubtedly pancakes. Here is a classic recipe for fluffy and delicious pancakes:


Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon white sugar

1 1/4 cups milk

1 egg

3 tablespoons butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:


1. In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.

2. In a separate bowl, beat the egg until fluffy. Add in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract and mix well.

3. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the wet mixture. Mix until just combined (do not overmix or the pancakes will become tough).

4. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Once hot, ladle about 1/4 cup of batter per pancake onto the pan.

5. Cook until the edges start to dry and the surface is bubbly. Flip the pancake and cook until the other side is golden brown.

6. Serve hot with your choice of toppings, such as maple syrup, whipped cream, or fresh fruit.
